Fantastic Friday in Whio!

This morning we had our school Mihi Whakatau where we gave a special welcome to tamariki and whānau new to Halswell. In Whio we welcomed Jason and his whānau as well as Alexia who started late in Term 4 last year. 


We also enjoyed Open Door Friday with Tī Kōuka - today we had some Chinese New Year activities such as lanterns and dragons. We also shared a book to learn more about this special celebration.


Finally, we had an exciting end to the day when Arya's monarch butterfly chrysalis starting hatching!

Willowbank Reflections

At Willowbank I got to see lots of exciting and amazing animals. My favourite animal was the kiwi and the peacock and the monkey and also the tuna eels. I liked seeing Gumpy eat bugs. It was funny. He couldn't see a bug so it was funny. It was also scary. I liked seeing the baby ducklings because I got close to them and there were lots of them. Special visit from Music with Michal

 Today in Huritini we had a very special visit from one of our favourite performers, Michal. We loved listening to all our favourite songs (Kindness, The Seagull Song and Dinosaur Zoo and more) and a few new ones too (Brave). Michal was very impressed by how well our children could sing along to her songs. We loved our visit from Michal and will continue to enjoy singing her songs in our studio.
