Te Whare Tapa Whā

Te Whare Tapa Whā, which translates as 'the house with four walls', is a model for wellbeing. Each wall represents a different aspect of health and wellbeing- physical/tinana, family/whānau, spiritual/wairua and emotional/hinengaro. We need to look after each of these to be happy and healthy.

This week the tamariki explored what each of the four 'walls' meant to them. Each T group has created their own display of their Te Whare Tapa Whā.

We will continue to talk about Te Whare Tapa Whā throughout the term as we explore mindfulness through the Pause Breathe Smile programme.
